Privacy Policy
Ghost helps you selectively block network access for chosen apps using Android VPN APIs. This policy explains what data we collect, why we use it, and how it is shared.
Information We Collect
Account Data
Name, email address, authentication provider, and Firebase user ID for login, account management, and subscription sync.
Purchase Data
Subscription status, entitlement state, product identifiers, purchase tokens, and transaction metadata processed by RevenueCat and Google Play Billing.
Device Identifiers
App instance identifiers, device or installation identifiers, diagnostics, and limited device metadata needed for authentication, billing, fraud prevention, debugging, and service reliability.
App Preferences
Selected target apps, custom blocked hosts/IP rules, DNS provider choices, onboarding completion, and local session history.
VPN and DNS Processing
Ghost processes local network routing and DNS requests on-device to block selected apps. DNS observations used by Discover/Observe are stored locally unless you choose to contact support and share them.
Support Data
Messages, email address, device/app details, screenshots, or logs you choose to send when contacting support.
How We Use Information
- To create and secure your Ghost account.
- To provide Ghost blocking, DNS route selection, custom rules, and session features.
- To verify and manage Ghost Android Pro subscriptions.
- To prevent abuse, debug crashes, improve reliability, and provide support.
- To comply with legal, tax, payment, security, and Google Play requirements.
Sharing and Third-Party Services
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers needed to operate Ghost:
- Firebase / Google: authentication, Google sign-in, app configuration, and related security services.
- Google Play Billing: subscription purchase, trial, renewal, cancellation, and refund handling.
- RevenueCat: subscription entitlement management, customer info, paywalls, and customer center.
- DNS Providers: if you choose a DNS route such as Cloudflare or Google Public DNS, allowed DNS queries may be sent to that provider from your device.
On-Device VPN Disclosure
Ghost uses Android's VPN service only to route and block traffic for selected apps. Ghost is not a general-purpose VPN for hiding your location, and we do not operate a remote proxy server for your browsing traffic. The app's blocking logic is designed to run on your device.
Data Retention
Account and subscription data is kept while your account exists or as required for billing, security, tax, and legal obligations. Local app settings and session history remain on your device until you delete the app, clear app data, or change settings. Support messages are retained only as long as reasonably needed to help you and maintain records.
Your Choices
- You can update your name, change your password, or sign out in Settings.
- You can manage or cancel subscriptions through Google Play or RevenueCat Customer Center.
- You can clear local app data from Android system settings.
- You may contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of account information.
Children
Ghost is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate action.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure.
International Use
Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live. By using Ghost, you understand that service providers may process data where they operate.
